"STAR-FISH II"

The second Star-Fish Racing Machine out of the Smith Brothers stable driven by Stuart Smith. This car was powered by "Ole Boat Motors" and was the Prescott Raceway Record Holder for three years.

First Dodge Powered Comp Car in the 6's

The third Star-Fish Racing Machine of the Smith Bros. is this black dragster built by Mike Bos Chassiscraft. This car was the first Dodge Powered Competition Eliminator car to break into the 6's and exceed 190 MPH back in February of '94 at Dallas. It is an A/ED, 445" Dodge - single four barrel carburetor gasoline burner.

"STAR-FISH IV"

This is our Competition Eliminator Dragster built by Joe Monden. We still run it Dodge Powered in A/ED. At the IHRA World Finals we were the quickest A/ED class car, qualified No. 5 in the Modified field and raced into the Semi's. The car ran consistently in the 6.9's and sub one second 60 foot times. Currently, the Comp car is getting a rest while we campaign the A/Fuel Dragster with our long time friend and partner Forrest Fair.

SMITH-FAIR A/FUEL DRAGSTER

In 2007 we teamed up with our long time friend Forrest Fair to begin building a new Christian based NHRA A Fuel Dragster Team. We trained and planned during the 2008 season working with long time friend and Crewchief Joe Monden with the NHRA Division 4 Championship Team of Aaron Tatum. We completed our car during the Fall of 2009 and began the licensing process with Forrest at the wheel in early 2010 runner upping that Fall at the NHRA Division 4 final event in Noble Oklahoma. In 2011 we Runner upped at the first divisional event of the year in Houston running in the 5.30's at 270 MPH. The next month we won the Div 4 meet in Ennis and finished the year in the Div 4 #3 position. In 2012 we moved up to a local NHRA National Event Schedule where we have now competed in three National events, qualifying at each one. We ran the quickest A/FD 60 foot time for the A/FD field at the Fall National event at Dallas. We were narrowly defeated in the second round by fellow competitor Monroe Guest. This process has been very rewarding and fun. We have a great team and remember each day the real reason we are out here racing. Our main goal is to spread Christ in every man's world!

RETURN OF STAR-FISH
RETURN OF STAR-FISH

After a 25 year hiatus from driving and boat racing, Steven is now having the time of his life serving as Crew Chief on the Smith-Fair A/FD and now driving an Unblown Gas Jetboat again! The UBGJ class no longer exist so Steven has relicensed with the SDBA and running in the PE 8 Second Index Class. Discovering an Eliminator Daytona that was looking for a new home, Steven purchased the hull and did a complete re-rig on her. Currently he is the only carbureted jetboat running in the SDBA PE ranks running competitively with many Blown Alky Hydros and Flats. It has been a blast!
